Del Mar Energy Pathway Project

On September 14, 2018, Eastern Shore submitted an application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity requesting authorization to construct, own, operate and maintain the Del-Mar Energy Pathway Project.

The project was necessary to deliver up to an aggregate of 14,300 dt/d of additional natural gas transportation services to meet the growing market demand for economical and reliable energy with fewer emissions.

This project brought natural gas service to Somerset County, Maryland, one of only three counties in the state whose end-users did not currently have access to environmentally friendly and affordable natural gas.

Eastern Shore has executed binding Precedent Agreements with four of its existing shippers for the additional capacity.

2017 Expansion Project

The 2017 Expansion Project is an approximate $117 million capital investment, consisting of approximately 23 miles of pipeline looping in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. It also upgrades existing metering facilities, installs an additional 3,750 horsepower compressor units at the existing Daleville Compressor Station in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and adds approximately 17 miles of new mainline extension and the addition of two pressure control stations in Sussex County, Delaware.

The expansion project is a result of our ongoing commitment to providing new service and supply options to our customers. Additionally, the project will add significant firm transportation pipeline capacity by 25 percent, pursuant to precedent agreements, which ESNG entered into with seven existing customers as well as affiliates of Chesapeake Utilities. This expansion project enables ESNG to meet the growing demand for energy that is reliable, clean and at a low cost. Thus, supporting economic growth in the region.
